PA Man Struck In Marked Crosswalk ID'd: Police

A 74-year-old man has been identified after he died at a hospital after being struck in a Central Pennsylvania crosswalk, police announced on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Tar Pee Tu of Charles Road in Lancaster, was struck in the crosswalk in the first block of Pitney Road in Lancaster at approximately 11:13 p.m. on Sept. 2, the East Lampeter Township Police Department detailed in a release. 

The southbound striking vehicle was a gray 2009 Acura TSX driven by 34-year-old Luis Petrilli-Rivera, of South Ann Street in Lancaster, the police explained. He remained on the scene. 

Tu was "taken to a local hospital with severe injuries where he later died," the police said. 

The roadway was closed for approximately two hours, re-opening at 1:10 a.m., according to the police. 

In addition to the police, West Lampeter Township Police Lafayette Fire Company Witmer Fire Company LEMSA assisted at the scene. 

"A crash re-construction investigation is on-going," the police said.
